Honest review of Stranger Things Lego set from a fan

We connected with a Stranger Things fan online and asked him to share with us what he felt about the Ludo game. After using the set for 3 months and quite satisfied with it, he shared what he felt about the interactive experience.

As a board game nerd and Stranger Things fan, this was a super fun surprise. It’s basically classic Ludo but with an Upside Down twist. The design’s cool — dark, moody, very on-brand for the show. The character tokens are cute, but feel a little light, like they could’ve been sturdier. Still, if you’re into the show, it’s a fun way to geek out with friends on game night. Not a super intense strategy game, but it nails the vibe. Bonus: yelling “Demogorgon got me!” makes it weirdly thrilling.

Stranger Things Ludo board printable

For fans looking for a Stranger Things ludo board, that you can print and play, we have got you covered. We have attached the ludo board image below, that you can right click and download. Rules, what you need to play, and other instructions are also given below.

What You’ll Need:

  • The Stranger Things Ludo board (printed and placed on a flat surface)
  • 1 die (six-sided)
  • 16 game tokens (4 of each color: red, yellow, green, blue)
You can use coins, buttons, or even Stranger Things stickers!
  • 2 to 4 players

Objective:

Be the first to move all 4 of your tokens from your home base to your home path, traveling around the board while dodging the Upside Down traps (optional twist explained below!).

Setup:

  1. Each player chooses a color zone (red, yellow, green, or blue).
  2. Place all 4 of your tokens in your matching start base (the colored quadrant).
  3. Decide who rolls first.

Basic gameplay:

  1. Players take turns rolling the die.
  2. You need to roll a 6 to bring a token onto the board.
  3. Once on the board, your token moves in a clockwise direction.
  4. Rolling a 6 gives you another turn.
  5. You can capture opponents’ tokens by landing on the same square — they go back to their base!
  6. Tokens must make a full round before entering their home path (the colored line leading to the center).
  7. Exact number is required to move into the final home triangle.

Winning the Game:

The first player to get all 4 tokens into the home triangle wins!

Optional twist: Upside Down tiles:

  • Choose a square in each quadrant to be a “Trap Tile” (mark it with a small symbol).
  • If you land on a trap tile, your token is stuck for 1 turn—roll a 6 to escape!
